Panchakarma Therapist Course (1000 Hrs) Coming Fall 2010

Introduction to Ayurvedic Health System - 100 hours

This is a FOUNDATION course in Ayurveda and serves as a Pre Requisite to advance courses. New Batch beginning July 11th.

Curriculum-

By the end of this 100 hours, student is expected to have a working knowledge of the following:

Ayurvedic History
Ayurvedic Mythology
Ayurvedic Concepts of Health and Disease
The Cause of Disease - A Classical Ayurvedic Perspective
Ayurvedic Anatomy and Physiology

A .Ten pairs of opposite qualities
B. Five element theory
C. Tridosha theory
D. Subdoshas
E. Dhatus
F. Kalas
G. Srotas
H. Agni
I. Ama
J. Ojas
K. Nadis

Final Assessment will consist of

* Prakruti vs. Vikruti (Determining Dosha and Imbalance of a volunteer)
* The Rhythms of Nature - Daily Routine, and Seasonal Cleansing Plan
* Basic Herb Protocals
* Basic Yoga TherapyIntroduction to Ayurveda

(Determining a healing plan that includes exercise, lifestyle recommendations, seasonal Detox therapies, herbs and Daily Routine. Experiential based learning with case studies.)

FEES:
Distant Learning Only - $540 only (when paid in full, $600, if paid in installments)
Classroom and Online, Blended Course price - 80 hours online, 20 hours classroom - $648, if paid in full. $720, if paid in installments.

Training Methodology - Student will receive handouts, a workbook,and there will be online webinars and lectures every month. Private clinicals, Online Whiteboard, videoconferencing option is also available.

Classroom Hours - In the 20 classroom hours, there are 8 LIVE Classroom Hours and or Online Virtual Classes OR any Classroom Workshop and some clinical hours. Four clinical Hours, or internship is dine in the clinic under your teacher.

Ayurvedic Pharmocology and Herbology - 150 Hours
IAhrb 101 is a 150 Hr ONLINE course with 'LIVE' webinars and video conferencing classes every two weeks. This includes a 4 hr internship with an Ayurvedic Practitioner. Essentially it works out to be 11 hours of LIVE classes, 4 hr internship and the rest to be done at your own time. We also have videos of teachers preparing ghee, infusions, decoctions and herbal wines and jams. We send the DVD by mail when you enroll. A 100 Hour course option is also available.

Pre Requisite: Foundation course in AYURVEDA IAH 101

Ayurvedic Herbology versus Western
Herbology.
Rasa, Virya, Vipaka &Prabhav,
25 Different Ayurvedic Herbs and their uses, preparation in health, beauty and for different Health Conditions
Herbal actions and Indications,
Herb preparation and Usage,
Medicated oils and Ghee, Preparation of basic
Massage Oils and Herbal Formulas.

Ayurvedic Bodywork Therapies Level 1 - (48 hrs) Pre Requisite - 50 hours Foundation course in Ayurveda.

Classroom module includes Preparation of Room, Table, Contraindications, Abhyangam -7 Positions, Bodywork - Ayurvedic Sarvabhyangam, Shirobhyangam, MARMA - 107 points, Contraindications, safety, comparison with trigger point therapy. Integratring Abhyangam and Marma with other modalities. Integrating Ayurveda with other western modalities - physical therapy

Ayurvedic Bodywork Therapies Level 2 - Panchakarma Therapist - (200 hrs)

Online: Introduction to Ayurveda, History and Philosophy, Ayurvedic Anatomy – Panchabhoot, Panchakoshas, Chakras, and Nadis, Trigunas, Tridohasa, SaptaDhatus, Introduction to Sankhya Philosophy. Ayurveda and Disease. Disease Management. Introduction to Dravya. Dinacharya. Diet and Lifestyle, Introduction to Body Constitution Analysis, Introduction to Tongue Analysis, Facial Analysis, and Pulse. Human Anatomy and Physiology, Herbs and Preparation of oils according to constitution, Basic Ayurvedic Nutrition, Case Studies of Holistic Health Managment via Ayurvedic Herbs, Diet Yoga Therapy and Lifestyle. Online/Videos/Webinars- Yoga Therapy (50 hrs), and Ayurvedic Cooking and Dravya Preparation. Preparation of Ghee, Herbal Oils, Ayurvedic Jams, Ayurvedic Tea Infusions and Decoctions.

Ayurvedic Bodywork Level 1 Completion with 100 hours including Clinical Hours and Assessment. Online: 50 hours (Ama, Agni,Diagnostics and Pathology, Ayurvedic Anatomy in detail)

Classroom - (40 hrs + 10 hrs Clinicals or Research). If the student has completed Ayurvedic Level 1 then, the student will only pay for 100 hours for this course, not for 200.

Ayurvedic Health Educator Level 1 (250 Hrs)

Pre Requisite - Ayurvedic Bodywork Level 1 or Introduction to Ayurvedic Health (listed above)

Curriculum includes - Ayurvedic Bodywork Level 1 (see curriculum above) OR Introduction to Ayurvedic Health Concepts, Stages of Disease, Yoga Therapy, Nutritional Therapy, Herbology, Ayurvedic Anatomy, Seasonal Detoxification Program for different body types, Six Tastes, Ayurvedic Diet and Yoga Therapy, Dravya Preparation and specialization in Dravya, Ayurveda and Disease, Introduction to Panchakarma Detoxification Therapies, Ayurvedic Pharmocology and Nutrition, Ayurvedic Cooking, Yoga and Meditation

ONLINE only Fees: Discounted Fee with 4 Payments in a year- $399 x 4 flexi payments. Or, $99 enrollment fee and $149 per month for 12 months.

(This course is inclusive of 10 Hours of yoga therapy, Herbology, clinicals or internship with a teacher in a classroom. Plus, 30 hours online video conferencing, LIVE virtual classroom on student's schedule. Student has the choice to opt for more classroom hours, and pay the difference, in case they want to specialize in Yoga Therapy or Bodywork.)

Fees: Payment Option 1- If paid in three installments of $600 each = $1800. No Enrollment Fee.
